About the role
Our Fresh Produce Retail client is seeking motivated, energetic and results-driven Trainee Managers to join their structured management development programme. This contract role offers practical, hands-on training across all key divisions of the business, preparing candidates to grow into full management positions.
The Trainee Manager will rotate through and receive training in:
- Receiving & Stock Control – stock handling, rotation, counts, ordering, and loss prevention.
- Waste Control & Stock Rotation – monitoring damages, expiries, and implementing preventative measures.
- Cleanliness, Hygiene & Store Standards – maintaining operational standards and compliance.
- Cashier & Float Control – cashier operations, float management, and cash-handling procedures.
- Administration & Cashing-Up – reconciliation, reporting, and daily operational administration.
- Wholesale Marketing & Customer Service – sales support, customer relationship building, and promotions.
- Management & Team Communication – leadership development, problem-solving, and coordinating operations.
- Report regularly to Store / Senior Management.
- Communicate professionally with employees at all levels.
- Escalate operational problems promptly and maintain accurate records.
What they're looking for
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Retail Management, Business, Marketing, Finance, Operations or related).
- Minimum 2 years' relevant work experience.
- Valid Driver's Licence advantageous.
- Computer literacy and ability to work with administrative/reporting systems.
