About the role
OkavangoDiamond Company, or ODC, is a rough diamond marketing company that is wholly owned by the Botswana Government. We offer our global customer base open access to scale supply of the full range of rough diamonds sourced from Botswana. With access to 30% of Debswana’s run-of-mine production, ODC is an important supplier to the market with sales in the region of $900 million per annum. The organisation has exciting opportunity for individuals driven by a quest for excellence to take on the following position:
Job Purpose: Reporting to Senior Manager: Security, the position will be responsible for conducting pre and current employment vetting of employees and contractors, ensuring compliance with relevant acts and investigating security breaches and incidents related to diamond security, as well as, other crimes within the organisation.
The Job:
The incumbent will be responsible for, among others, the following:
- Liaising with Botswana Government Law Enforcement Agencies on matters relating to diamond security and related criminal activities.
- Collecting intelligence to ensure optimum security protection for employees, customers and company assets.
- Identifying emerging issues and communicating anomalies to management to raise security awareness.
- Ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conducting regular security audits and assessments.
- Monitoring and managing security breaches by identifying, investigating, resolving and preparing incident reports on internal investigations.
- Adhering to regulatory standards, protecting the company’s reputation and managing compliance to prevent operational risks.

The Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management.
- A minimum of 6 years security experience in a high value security environment, 3 of which should be in a management role.
