About the role

Our client in Johannesburg is recruiting for a ServiceNow Developer to join their team. The purpose of the role is Designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow applications and services.

• Configuration and development in ServiceNow including routine changes, configuration adjustments and bespoke development.
• Provide technical direction in the creation, delivery and integration of complex software solutions.
• Configure and maintain data integrations between ServiceNow and other systems.
• Perform system and integration testing, monitor health, usage and overall compliance of ServiceNow applications.
• Collaborate with business analysts and other developers to clarify requirements and identify ways to simplify user experience.
• Provide tool or process solutioning recommendations.
• Delivery of functional and technical designs, models, components, code, unit tests and documentation as required.
• Provide troubleshooting for integration management, security, and application issues.
• Collaborate with teammates in support of platform consistency and upgradability.
• Participate in Continual Service Improvement activities.
• Adhere to internal processes and compliance requirements.
• Identify and develop ways to improve the functionality offered in ServiceNow OTHER.
• Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
• Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
• Manage client expectations effectively.
• Update job knowledge and certifications by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications, identifying, and attending relevant training.

What they're looking for

• Experience:
• Required: minimum 10 years experience.
• Preferred (would be advantageous): 15 years of experience.
• Education / Qualifications:
• Course: UG Courses
• Qualifications: B.Sc
• Required:
• Degree in IT or equivalent, Certified ServiceNow Administrator and Application Developer, ITIL certification.
• Accreditations with Professional Body / Professional Registration:
• ServiceNow certification.
• Technical Skills or Knowledge
• Experience with flow designer and performance analytics, Extensive experience in complex ServiceNow integrations, Extensive experience in ServiceNow solution (Business Rules, Client Scripting, UI Policies, ACLs, CSS, Properties, UI pages, Workflows, Contexts etc.), Develop Client scripts, Business Rules, Web Service Import sets, Transform Maps & scripted web services.
• Fundamental understanding of the key technologies relevant to the ServiceNow integration solutions including: ServiceNow API’s, SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, Web portal development skills, such as HTML, CSS, Angular JS, bootstrap, Build custom applications as needed by the company and where a solution cannot be met with out of box or customized ServiceNow solutions.
• Adherence to produce clean and easy-to-understand code and documentation, Experience in server and client side development and debugging, Platform reliability, performance, security knowledge, Experience developing and implementing systems using Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Demonstrate high degree of work ethics, accountability, versatile experience, and excellent interpersonal skills, Experience with migration from legacy toolsets into ServiceNow, Experience with green field development of ServiceNow solutions, Experience with integration of legacy tools with ServiceNow.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle models and practices, Active advocate of standards, Good time management and ability to self-motivate/manage, Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure, English is the working language.
