About the role

The role focuses on growing business by identifying new prospects, maintaining existing customer relationships, and achieving monthly sales targets and margins for the company.

• Grow business by identifying new prospects and targeting new accounts
• Build and maintain solid relationships with the customer base
• Sell products by recommending solutions and establishing contact with prospects
• Organise monthly face-to-face client visits (minimum 3 per week for External Sales)
• Maintain travel logs and call sheets
• Advise management on market trends and competitors
• Inform Sales Manager of business opportunities to ensure accurate forecasting
• Accurately process customer orders
• Achieve monthly sales targets with a minimum 30% margin
• Manage a healthy debtors' book
• Identify business opportunities through research and analysis
• Bring in an additional R10,000 turnover per month in sales
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops and training
• Call a minimum of 30 customers daily to establish needs
• Update customer details in Pastel every 3 months
• Assess stock availability, pricing, and delivery dates
• Capture sales orders onto the system within 10 minutes of receipt
• Release sales orders to warehouse within 2 minutes of completion
• Compile and forward quotations within 10 minutes of request
• Resolve customer complaints and queries professionally
• Maintain safety, health, and environmental standards in the work area
• Perform weekly inventory counts and re-counts

What they're looking for

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Sales Executive in any industry
• Proficient in MS Office suite
• Proficient in Pastel Accounting
• Driver’s license and own transport essential
• Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow processes and procedures accurately
• Positive customer experience orientation
