About the role
Our client is seeking a skilled and qualified SAIPA Accountant with completed articles and strong accounting exposure.
The role will be based in Gauteng, South Africa initially, with the opportunity to relocate to Lisbon, Portugal after successful training and integration with the company, or to work remotely from South Africa after a short 2-3 month training and integration period in Portugal.
- Manage all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
- Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and standards
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process
- Provide financial analysis and support to management
- Prepare and submit tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records
- Assist in the audit process and coordinate with external auditors
- Provide support and training to junior accounting staff

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- SAIPA qualification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
