About the role

Our client is looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join their on-site team in Port Elizabeth. If you have strong full-function accounting experience, property-sector knowledge and a passion for improving processes, this could be the opportunity for you.

• Take full ownership of the finance function for the group's property and holding companies
• Manage bank account allocations, reconciliations and loan account reconciliations
• Perform monthly loan interest calculations and ensure accurate accounting records
• Manage property-related financial administration and contract accounting
• Prepare accurate monthly management and financial reports
• Prepare and submit VAT, provisional tax and annual company tax returns
• Manage the full SARS compliance calendar and ensure all statutory deadlines are met
• Prepare and maintain audit files and liaise directly with external auditors through to sign-off
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across group entities
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are correctly allocated
• Assist with holding company and treasury-related accounting activities

What they're looking for

• Completed Accounting qualification (Degree or Diploma)
• Full-function accounting experience through to Trial Balance and beyond
• Hands-on experience preparing and submitting VAT, provisional and annual company tax returns
• Experience with intercompany transactions and loan account reconciliations
• Strong audit file preparation experience and direct engagement with external auditors through to sign-off
• Property-sector accounting experience, including rental, commercial letting or managing agents
• Zoho experience is essential/advantageous
• Sage Pastel Partner experience
• SAIPA or CIMA registration
• Previous involvement in system migration or implementation projects
• Holding company or treasury exposure will be advantageous
• Demonstrated interest in automation, process improvement and reducing manual work
• Must be based in Port Elizabeth or genuinely willing to relocate
• This is an on-site position
