About the role
We are seeking Internal Auditors (all levels) for Cape Town & Gauteng to join project-based consulting assignments across leading organisations in:
- Banking & Corporate Investment Banks
- Financial Services
- Insurance
- Retail linked to Financial Services
The role focuses on strengthening governance, enhancing internal controls, and delivering tailored audit solutions that align with industry requirements.
- Design and implement audit strategies to improve governance and operational integrity.
- Conduct risk assessments, compliance testing, and control evaluations.
- Streamline audit planning and execution, ensuring efficient delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Adapt audit methodologies to industry-specific requirements.
- Prepare clear, actionable audit reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement remediation and process improvements.
What they're looking for
- Degree/diploma in Accounting, Auditing, Risk Management, or Finance.
- Minimum 2+ years' Internal Audit experience (junior to senior levels).
- Strong knowledge of risk, compliance, governance, and internal control frameworks.
- Industry exposure in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or Retail Financial Services.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to consulting environments and short-term projects.
- Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
Preferred / Advantageous
- CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or progress toward certification.
- Experience in IT audit, cybersecurity audit, or operational audit.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, system migrations, or automation projects.
- Knowledge of IFRS, King IV, COSO frameworks.
- Prior consulting or project-based audit exposure.
