About the role

Our client is seeking an ambitious, commercially minded and detail-oriented Financial Manager to oversee the financial operations of three hospitality businesses in Stellenbosch.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accounting professional with 2–3 years' relevant experience who is ready to take ownership of financial reporting, controls and day-to-day financial management across a small hospitality portfolio.

The successful candidate will be analytical, organised and proactive, with the confidence to work closely with business owners and operational managers.

• Oversee financial management and accounting across three hospitality businesses.
• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Monitor budgets, cash flow, profitability and operating expenditure.
• Manage financial reconciliations and general ledger accuracy.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payment processes.
• Monitor revenue reporting, cost allocations and financial performance.
• Assist with payroll oversight and related financial administration.
• Ensure accurate VAT, tax and statutory financial compliance.
• Support annual financial statements and external audit requirements.
• Review financial controls and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Analyse financial results and provide meaningful management insights.
• Work closely with operational managers to improve cost control and profitability.
• Maintain organised financial records and reporting deadlines.

What they're looking for

• CA(SA) qualification or recognised Accounting / Finance qualification – essential.
• Minimum 2–3 years' relevant accounting or financial management experience.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations and management accounts.
• Good knowledge of South African tax and VAT requirements.
• Confident working with budgets, cash flow and financial controls.
• Strong Excel and accounting software proficiency.
• Hospitality, restaurant or multi-entity accounting experience advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and financial accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time-management ability.
• Proactive, accountable and able to work independently.
• Comfortable managing the financial requirements of multiple businesses.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.
