About the role
Our client is seeking an energetic, personable and professional Barman / Bartender to join a vibrant restaurant and bar operation in Stellenbosch.
This opportunity is suited to a passionate hospitality professional who enjoys working in a lively environment, delivering excellent drinks service and creating memorable guest experiences.
The successful candidate must be confident behind the bar, well organised and comfortable working during busy restaurant service periods.
- Prepare and serve cocktails, wines, spirits, beers and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Deliver friendly, efficient and professional bar service.
- Maintain excellent beverage presentation and consistency.
- Assist guests with drinks recommendations and menu selections.
- Maintain a clean, organised and fully stocked bar.
- Monitor beverage stock, assist with stocktakes and minimise wastage.
- Follow correct pouring, portioning and cash-handling procedures.
- Maintain bar equipment, glassware and service areas.
- Work closely with the restaurant and service teams.
- Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with hygiene standards.
- Support smooth bar operations during busy shifts and special events.
What they're looking for
- Previous Barman / Bartender experience within a restaurant, bar or hospitality establishment.
- Good knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer and wine.
- Previous cocktail preparation experience advantageous.
- Strong guest-service and communication skills.
- Confident, enthusiastic and professional.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Strong teamwork and organisational skills.
- Willing to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Able to commute reliably to Stellenbosch.
